  • Travis Hester

    Global Vice President of Customer Experience - General Motors

    Travis is the newly appointed Global Vice President of Customer Experience. In this new leadership role, Travis heads a global strategy focused on elevating end-to-end customer experiences to world-class levels and is responsible for OnStar contact center operations. Originally from Bendigo, Australia, Travis’ began his GM career in 1995 at Holden.

    Most recently Travis was President and Managing Director GM Canada. While in Canada, Travis was integral in the Oshawa labor negotiation with Unifor, ultimately leading to the transition of the Oshawa assembly site to a unique new parts manufacturing operation and state-of-the-art test track for advanced vehicle testing. GM Canada has now grown to become the largest automotive software engineering workforce in Canada and expanded its innovation network through partnerships with Canadian universities, start-ups and business incubators.

    Travis has worked as a resident in the U.S., China, Canada and Australia in addition to architecture development in GM Korea and GM Europe. His previous roles at GM span various Design Engineering and leadership roles, working extensively across the functions in Manufacturing, Purchasing, Finance, Design & Engineering. He has previously held roles such as Vice President, Global Chief Engineers and Program Management, Executive Chief Engineer for Cadillac Premium Luxury Vehicles and Vehicle Chief Engineer at PATAC (Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center).

    Travis received the 2016 Boss Kettering award for the Rear Camera Mirror and holds four patents for his inventions. He holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Latrobe University in Victoria, Australia in 1994.
